I have a question Synthdad, what are the easiest modules to begin learning with? There’s a lot of options in modular and it begins to feel fruitless when I have many modules that not only do I not know what their function is capable of in my rack, but also might be difficult modules to learn at all! For example, maybe the doepfer series of modules are simpler to understand than MAKE NOISE and most other companies.

Topics: ways to combine sequencers, why is track and hold? D gate flip flop, how to do something like the accumulators in metropolix with a regular sequencer (modify step X differently for every time through)

You say an XOR can be used to produce a NOT. I don’t see that this is possible. 18:04

As I understand the link button (I may be wrong), it isn't quite 'sync for the tape speed' (because that would make it jump values), but rather when enabled it keeps the delay time steady while changing the tape speed (thus re-pitching the buffer). So you hear what's already in the buffer go faster/slower but the new audio coming in will still keep the same delay rhythm. With link disabled, if you change tape speed, the delay time changes (not just what's in the buffer) as a real tape delay would. It's kinda weird but cool, one of those things you could only do with digital tape. I love the slower tape speed crunch too.

question about that Decca. I got one awhile back after seeing this video; but I notice the push buttons "bounce" a lot of the time. Meaning they will trigger twice. Do yours also do this?

Please help, oh great Synth Dad. I can't seem to get anything out of my OXI. I have it connected to my Dreadbox Synth via 5pin mid (using TRS to midi adapter provided by oxi), and I am getting no sound. I have Oxi Split Selection disabled. I have my dreadbox on channel 1, the oxi track on 1a. I get no sound when I have a random sequence plugged in, nor any sound when I use keyboard mode. It's not the cable,; when I plug the dreadbox into my arturia keystep I get all the sounds. I'm so frustrated, please help!

Hi, great video. Thanks. If you know - if you feed external CV into the quantiser, I assume that overwrites the slider cv? (and if so, what happens to the slider cv?) Or can it quantise the slider output in addition to quantising an external signal, per channel? (meaning i could create 2 sequences on the stepfader, and then also process 2 other external sequences through the quantiser?) Thanks to anyone who may know the answer

Strongly recommend Pipe to anyone who wants to use Oxi with modular gear. Not only it is convenient to have a breakout module in the rack, but also, now your CV and gate outs on Oxi are unbuffered mults, and we all know that especially gates are almost always going into mult before sending them to envelopes and various other stuff.

Hello there, ive just started my O&C Rabbit hole so thanks for the videos! Ive been trying to research elsewhere but can find an answer so thought id bother you! Sorry. I followed your procedure, Mac, teensy, data wire, back of module, Botton, power etc but now the O&C doesn't power on at all. Any recommendations. Thanks again.

Excellent tutorial I keep referring back to whenever I’m stuck. One question on clocks I can’t seem to figure out. I want to send Pam’s to TR1 input, and “clock forward” to TR3 input. And I want the clock on TR3 to be 4x faster than the Pam’s clock coming into TR1. I tried putting x1 above TR1 in the first channel, and then x4 above the third slot (which has been switched to TR1 for clock forwarding to that channel). But both channels are being triggered at the same Pams rate.

Wow! When you pressed GATE 3 to reset the Play function of Enigma, it was like watching the behind the scenes of Wonka (Charlie & The Chocolate Factory/ Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory) because I am beginning to recognize that Enigma & Enigma JR allow artists to play modules with a grand scheme ready to be played. What are the dimensions for those paper pieces, like a cm or two per each? I guess i could just cut to fit... I wish there were an mx12 overlay out there. Oversynth makes lots but i hadn't seen it on their list. I'm not sure if stereoping would make one. I already emailed faderfox and unfortunately they do not make an mx12 overlay.

Is it possible to route one set of messages only to MIDI out 1 and another to MIDI out 2? For example, I have 16 channels in the mixer and I dont want to effect my synth at the same time, if mx12 is sending messages out to both output at the same time
